Beaucoup de similitudes sur ce point, mais la playlist de Rock Band 2 reste résolument plus tournée POP que son homologue Guitar Hero, certainement pour viser un peu plus le grand public et rendre le jeu abordable à tous. Les fans de rock en tout genre regretteront vite Guitar Hero III : Legends of Rock qui offrait une playlist résolument plus aggressive que World Tour.

L'offre en ligne

Il faut ensuite y ajouter la bibliothèque de chansons en ligne, beaucoup plus complète sur Rock Band 2 et 25% moins chère. A noter aussi qu'Harmonix offre un pack de 20 chansons à télécharger grâce à un coupon situé dans la boîte, grâce à un code au dos du livret de jeu.

La compatibilité

Si Guitar Hero se contente de reprendre certains morceaux à l'identique, du côté de Rock Band 2 on appréciera au moins la possibilité d'importer (moyennant un petit patch payant tout de même, mais raisonnable) les chansons du premier CD. Une fonctionnalité vraiment pratique quand on avait l'ancienne version et que l'on souhaite rejouer aux vieux morceaux sans pour autant redémarrer la console.
